Citizens Monthly: April 2025

April has come and gone, and while we’re a little late to the game, we didn’t want to miss an opportunity to keep you in the loop with all things Citizens. Welcome to the Citizens Monthly!

Easter at the Beach

We had an amazing time celebrating Resurrection Sunday together. The weather was perfect (a welcome change from last year), and the community showed up ready to worship. We kicked the whole thing off with breakfast burritos and an Easter egg chase (not just a hunt: this year, the eggs were on the move!). Then, without question, one of the highlights of the day was ukulele worship led by our very own Tyler and Annalisa Fischer. Finally, we capped off the day with a conversation about what it means that Jesus is risen and how his resurrection changes everything for us.

Financial Update

Thanks to the generosity of our amazing community and friends of Citizens, giving has remained consistent through the month of April. We continue to bring in enough revenue to meet our monthly expenses while maintaining our reserve of roughly $20,000.

Additionally, our First Fruits fund continues to grow as we invest 20% of whatever comes into the church into that fund. We are always on the lookout for ministries we can support or needs we can meet with First Fruits. If you know of any, please reach out.

While we are thrilled by and grateful for the generosity of our church, we would love to see giving increase so that we can expand our capacity as community (additional staffing, building fund, greater generosity through First Fruits). Volunteers Needed

As I mentioned in our last Monthly, we have amazing kids at Citizens, and we are always in need of equally amazing leaders to help us teach our “Little Citizens.” If you are interested in serving with our kids, please reply to this email and let us know. We are looking for people who love Jesus, love kids, and are willing to serve once every 6-8 weeks. If that’s you, we’d love to hear from you.

Read Our New Blog!

In order to keep us thinking about, learning about, and living under the Kingship of Jesus, we're launching a new pastor's blog that will contain weekly posts from Josh on a variety of topics related to our mission statement: "Citizens is a community built on the kingship of Jesus, and we exist to love, obey, and represent our King."

The first miniseries in the blog will be bit of a history lesson about a cycle of 500-year upheavals in the Western Church, each of which has profoundly and permanently shaped the Church. It may seem like it's just a history lesson at first, but we promise you that not only will the content be interesting but also extremely relevant for each of and for our church. We hope you enjoy it, and we'd love to hear your thoughts on the posts.

The first post is live now!
